Life brings with itself ironies galore,
filled with sarcasm and some more
yet we love this cruelty met to us
cursing Him often on our tomorrow’s loss
This heart is a cruel thing to listen to
often has to say a word or two
it pains to hear them, O, I do know
yet in the works infinite, those words still they glow
The warm sun beating down on the weary road,
that soldier rests in the tree shade
and takes of his velvet coat
rests and refreshes, he walks away
I wonder what happened to the tree,
for it has to but stay.
